Director Urges Pilgrims to Verify Conditions
Writer‑director Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, the creative force behind the devotional film Hanuman Ansh, posted a short video on social platforms urging devotees to check the on‑ground situation at Kainchi Dham before setting out. He warned that whether the surge stems from the movie’s release or other factors, travelers should be aware of the actual crowd scenario.
He pointed out that dense gatherings and long queues can be especially taxing for families with children, senior citizens, and women. If the shrine is experiencing unusually heavy footfall, he recommends postponing the visit.
Alternative Neem Karoli Baba Sites
Instead of navigating a packed main sanctuary, the director highlighted several nearby locations linked to Neem Karoli Baba that remain open and spiritually vibrant. These include:
- Neem Karoli – the saint’s birthplace
- Kakri Ghat
- Hanuman Garhi
- Akbarpur
- Vrindavan – the historic pilgrimage town
He emphasized that devotion is not confined to a single spot; pilgrims can maintain their reverence while exploring any of these alternatives when Kainchi Dham reaches capacity.
Three‑Day Holiday Fuels Visitor Spike
The surge coincided with the October 2‑4 long weekend. Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 was a national holiday, followed by Saturday and Sunday, giving many a perfect window for travel.
Uttarakhand’s hill stations also reported heightened traffic. Mussoorie, for example, experienced severe congestion on the Mussoorie‑Dehradun stretch as pilgrims arrived from Delhi‑NCR and neighboring states such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.
Film Revives Interest in the Saint’s Legacy
Hanuman Ansh dramatizes the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, reigniting public curiosity about the guru and the places he frequented. While social media speculation linked the crowd increase to the film, Chaturvedi stopped short of blaming the movie outright, focusing instead on responsible travel practices.
His core message remains simple: before heading to Kainchi Dham, check real‑time crowd conditions and, if needed, consider one of the many other spiritually rich sites associated with Neem Karoli Baba.
