Overview of the IGNOU hiring campaign

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi has launched a fresh recruitment drive for fourteen non‑teaching cadres. Issued under Advertisement No. 69/2026/Admn., the notice solicits applications for the posts of Assistant Director, Technical Manager and Technical Assistant.

Vacancies, numbers and eligibility criteria

Assistant Director – 2 posts

Candidates should possess a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % marks and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience. The upper age limit is 48 years and the post is placed in Pay Level‑10.

Technical Manager – 4 posts

Applicants must have a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in the appropriate discipline, secure at least 55 % marks and hold five years of experience. The age ceiling is 42 years; the position also falls under Pay Level‑10.

Technical Assistant – 8 posts

The qualification requirement mirrors the other categories: a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with a minimum of 55 % marks. The maximum age permitted is 37 years and the salary is governed by Pay Level‑8.

Age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government rules for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex‑servicemen and government employees.

Application process and fee details

The online portal will be live from 3 October 2026 and will close at 23:59:59 on 2 November 2026. Applicants from the General, OBC‑NCL and EWS categories are required to pay Rs 1,000, while those from SC, ST, PwD, ex‑servicemen and women pay Rs 500. Payments can be made through debit/credit cards, net‑banking or mobile‑wallet services.

Selection procedure

Depending on the post, the university may assess candidates via a blend of qualification screening, experience verification, written or computer‑based examinations, skill‑test modules and personal interviews. Aspirants should refer to the official notification for the precise criteria applicable to their chosen vacancy.

Hard‑copy submission – mandatory step

Filling the electronic form constitutes only half of the process. After submitting online, candidates must print the application, attach self‑attested copies of all mandatory documents (educational certificates, experience letters and category proof where relevant) and dispatch the packet to the university.

All hard‑copy submissions must reach the Recruitment Cell no later than 12 November 2026.
