Chief Minister Hands Out Appointment Letters to 332 New Health Personnel
In a ceremony at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan of the CM’s camp office in Dehradun, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented appointment letters to 332 freshly selected candidates for Uttarakhand’s health sector. The cohort includes 271 AYUSH practitioners and 61 allopathic pharmacy officers who will operate under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) programme.
Dhami congratulated the inductees and appealed to them to discharge their duties with sincerity, empathy, and a true spirit of public service. He reminded them that an appointment letter is more than a document—it heralds a commitment to uplift the health of citizens, especially those who depend heavily on government facilities.
Immediate Benefits for Rural Health
The newly inducted AYUSH and ESI staff will be deployed to the front‑line of Uttarakhand’s healthcare system. In many isolated hamlets, patients travel long distances to reach the nearest government hospital, hoping for skilled and compassionate care. The chief minister emphasized that the attitude, responsiveness, and efficiency of these workers are crucial for maintaining public confidence.
He urged the recruits to become role models in every posting, noting that each patient arrives with hope and that timely, honest assistance can be life‑changing.
Transparent, Merit‑Based Hiring
Dhami highlighted recent measures to ensure that recruitment remains open and merit‑driven, citing crackdowns on cheating networks and the introduction of a strict anti‑copying regulation. He pointed out that over the last five years, more than 35,000 young Uttarakhandis have secured government positions based on talent and hard work.
Uttarakhand’s Ambition as an AYUSH & Wellness Hub
The state, long celebrated for yoga, Ayurveda, and medicinal herbs, is now being positioned as a flagship AYUSH destination and a global wellness centre. Plans include extending AYUSH services to every district, modernising Panchakarma units, and establishing Ayurveda Utkarsh Centres.
Digital health initiatives are also gaining momentum: the e‑Sanjeevani portal facilitates remote specialist consultations, while the Ayush Setu portal offers a suite of online services. Moreover, several homestays have teamed up with nearby Ayurvedic centres, allowing tourists to blend accommodation with yoga, Ayurveda, and Panchakarma experiences.
ESI Coverage Now Spans All 13 Districts
The ESI scheme, which earlier operated in just six districts, now extends its reach to all thirteen districts of Uttarakhand. A 100‑bed ESI hospital in Rudrapur is already functional, a 300‑bed facility is under construction in Haridwar, and land has been earmarked in Kashipur for another hospital.
Recruitment for an additional 47 medical officers is in its final phase, reinforcing the government’s pledge to broaden and enhance healthcare accessibility throughout the state.
Dignitaries in Attendance
Ayush and Ayush Education Minister Madan Kaushik lauded the new hires, stating that the appointments will boost departmental performance and expand health services across the region. The event was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Umesh Sharma Kau and Savita Kapoor, Labour Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki, AYUSH Secretary Ranjana Rajguru, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Akanksha Konde, and other senior officials.
