Complaint Background
A 22‑year‑old woman from Banka approached the Bhargama police station in Araria district, filing a formal FIR against Mohammad Rabban, who lives in Ward 7 of Dhaneshwari panchayat. She claims Rabban hid his real identity and repeatedly demanded cash from her over a six‑year romantic involvement.
How the Relationship Started
The complainant says she grew up with her family in Delhi’s lively Sabzi Mandi market, where she first met Rabban, who introduced himself as “Sonu.” The two reportedly maintained a close relationship for almost six years.
Marriage Proposal Triggers Dispute
When she asked Rabban to marry her, he allegedly summoned her to his native village. Accompanied by her mother and brother, she traveled to Dhaneshwari panchayat, only to discover that a family feud broke out, halting any wedding arrangements.
Allegations of Financial Misconduct
According to the woman, Rabban extracted money from her on several occasions throughout the liaison. After the marriage plans collapsed, she turned to the police to retrieve the funds and lodge a complaint for alleged deception.
Community Mediation Efforts
Local community members attempted to intervene and broker a settlement, but the discussions fell apart. Consequently, the woman submitted a written application to the Bhargama police outlining her grievances.
Police Investigation Update
Bhargama SHO Rajesh Kumar confirmed receipt of the complaint and said it is currently under review. He noted that, so far, no concrete evidence of monetary fraud has been produced. The authorities will verify the accusations against the available facts before deciding on further legal steps.
