Armed Senior Triggers Panic at Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College
On Thursday, a senior pupil forced his way into Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College in Muzaffarnagar, brandishing a homemade pistol. He claimed he had come to pay his fees, slipped past the locked main gate and headed straight for a classroom where a Class 10 student was seated.
Shot Fired, Chaos Unleashed
Inside the room, the teenager is reported to have fired the weapon. The bullet missed its intended target, but the loud blast sent shockwaves through the entire campus. Principal Anurag Jain and several teachers rushed in, only to find the gunman pointing the firearm at the principal as well.
Why the Violence?
According to the assailant, the younger student and his friends had verbally abused and physically assaulted him earlier in the week. Police suspect the shooting was a retaliatory act after the Class 10 group allegedly struck the senior with sticks two days before.
Staff Subdue the Shooter, Police Arrive
Through calm negotiation, teachers managed to disarm the attacker and secure the pistol. Law enforcement was called, and officers recovered the firearm along with two cartridges. The suspect was taken into custody for further questioning.
Principal’s View on Campus Safety
Principal Jain noted that the student’s pretext of paying fees lowered initial suspicion, as the campus gate is locked after entry, limiting escape routes. He commended the staff’s swift action for averting a potentially tragic outcome.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators are now reconstructing the timeline of the earlier altercation and the subsequent shooting. The Class 10 student emerged unharmed, and the case remains under police scrutiny.
