Police have opened a murder investigation after the corpse of 34‑year‑old bank employee B. Sirisha was discovered in a room at Gokul Pride Hotel, SR Nagar, Hyderabad.
Sirisha, a customer‑care executive from Nagasamudram in Vikarabad district, checked into the hotel on 24 September with a man identified by investigators as A. Srinivas. Both allegedly used aliases and falsified identity documents when booking the accommodation.
In the hotel’s registration log, the male guest recorded his name as “Ganesh,” while Sirisha’s entry appeared under the pseudonym “Durga.” The pair were allotted room 10.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Srinivas departed the premises, informing staff that Sirisha would return after breakfast. When she failed to appear and did not answer her phone, hotel personnel grew suspicious and promptly notified the police.
Upon reaching the hotel, officers used a master key to open the door and found Sirisha dead on the bed. Preliminary observations revealed injury marks suggesting she may have been struck with a heavy or sharp object. A curtain rod recovered from the room is being examined as a possible weapon. The precise cause of death will be confirmed after the post‑mortem report.
Jubilee Hills DCP A. Ramana Reddy confirmed that a murder FIR has been lodged under Section 103(1) of the BNS. Fingerprints, DNA and other forensic evidence have been collected, and CCTV footage is being scrutinised to trace Srinivas’s movements and reconstruct the timeline.
A special task force has been constituted to locate Srinivas. Investigators are also probing the discrepancy between the name “Durga” in the hotel register and Sirisha’s actual identity as recorded in official documents.
Authorities are examining a previous alleged assault involving Sirisha’s husband to determine any possible connection to the current case, while the search for the suspect continues.
