India and US Forces Conduct Counter‑Terrorism Drills in Auli’s ‘Yudh Abhyas 2026’

Auli, Uttarakhand – In the midst of the ongoing ‘Yudh Abhyas 2026’ exercise, troops from the Indian and United States armies are undertaking a series of joint counter‑terrorism trainings. The programme is designed to sharpen tactical coordination and operational readiness under austere mountain‑terrain conditions.

Participating soldiers are executing building‑clearance and room‑intervention drills that mimic close‑quarters combat scenarios. Multiple platoons rotate through mock urban structures, practicing synchronized entry, target discrimination and casualty evacuation.

Modern battlefield tools are also on display. Drones, robotic canines, specialised dog squads and precision‑sniper teams are integrated into the scenarios, illustrating how technology can augment infantry actions during anti‑terror operations.

U.S. Army personnel are engaging directly with their Indian counterparts, reviewing the gear employed, and observing the tactical methodologies being demonstrated. This exchange aims to deepen mutual understanding of each force’s standard operating procedures.

The overarching goal of the exercise is to facilitate knowledge‑share, reinforce strategic rapport and boost the combined ability of the two militaries to operate seamlessly in joint missions. By training side‑by‑side, both armies are gaining valuable insights into contemporary combat techniques and interoperable command structures.
