Dehradun – The second phase of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme, aimed at amplifying young voices in the state’s growth story, is slated for September 18. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will engage directly with 140 carefully chosen students from every corner of Uttarakhand, listening to their vision for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
The interaction is not limited to the Chief Minister alone. Following his directive, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments have been assigned to meet the same group of students beforehand, ensuring that their ideas are filtered, refined, and ready for a policy‑level discussion.
More Than 267,000 Students Shared Their Views
Across Classes 11 and 12, nearly three lakh learners logged onto the online portal of the campaign. A total of 267,744 submissions poured in, covering topics such as education reform, job creation, tourism potential, environmental stewardship, migration trends, digital innovation, health services, and avenues for self‑employment.
An expert panel sifted through these entries and shortlisted 140 candidates whose proposals stood out for originality, feasibility, and impact. These students now have a rare chance to present their aspirations straight to the state’s top executive.
IAS Officers and Department Heads to Join the Dialogue
To bridge youthful imagination with actionable policy, officials from the Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development departments will hold focused sessions with the students.
During these meetings, bureaucrats will probe deeper into the participants’ thoughts on development pathways, employment generation, and long‑term prospects for Uttarakhand’s youth.
Scholarships Worth Up to ₹2 Lakh for Each Student
As part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative, each of the 140 selected scholars will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh. The funds are earmarked for career‑oriented coaching, skill‑building workshops, and guidance after Class 12, a promise announced by CM Dhami during the campaign’s launch.

Chief Minister Dhami stressed that the administration will strive to weave the most compelling student suggestions into existing government schemes and upcoming policies. He highlighted that tapping into the creativity and energy of young minds is essential for charting Uttarakhand’s future trajectory.
